GIT-R-CLEAN Rebranding

Objective

The objective was to rebrand the company GIT-R-CLEAN so that it portrays a feeling and action of dry-ice blasting using creative original ideas.

Process

1. Research

I began by researching dry ice blasting. Dry ice blasting is similar to sand blasting; the difference is dry ice blasting uses soft dry ice, accelerated at supersonic speeds, and creates mini explosions on the surface to the lift the undesirable item off the underlying substrate.

2. Direction

The direction I chose was a wordmark paired an icon/ symbol. I wanted to be able to communicate what dry ice blasting is using a symbol and pair it with the wordmark that clearly states the method of cleaning that they use.

3. Ideation development

I started this phase with mind mapping. I flushed out everything I felt was related to dry ice blasting. Dry ice blasting is a new industry that many people aren’t familiar with. When creating the logo, I had to take into consideration that the audience doesn’t know what kind of cleaning company it is.

4. Sketching

Sketching consisted of many phases. After the initial set of sketches, I chose the top two and continued to sketch different versions of each, as well as 10 new. The next phase I chose the top two again and made different variations of each. Below you can see how the sketches progress.
